In my experience, as a student, I have noticed that when given the freedom of choosing where I wanted to learn I was more motivated to put forth my best effort. I feel that by giving my students the choice to choose where they want to work I am telling them that their voice matters to me and to be accountable for their choices. This is why I am asking for sponsors to give my students the flexible seating items that they deserve to thrive in those areas. I want to create the type of learning environment where my students understand that their well being is equally important to me as their work ethic. I want my students to be able to focus on their educational skills in an environment that is warm and inviting so that they can make mistakes and learn from those experiences. A classroom that teaches a life experience of letting students navigate through their educational timeline while being responsible for their study habits and work ethic. The pillows that I have requested are envisioned in the room on a carpet area for literature purposes, like for read a loud time and for writing purposes. Students will have a pact that they will agree to in efforts to be fair, orderly, respectful and responsible. The organizers will assist them in staying organized by allowing them to efficiently clean up the flexible seating station when time is up for Language Arts as well as a unifor.
