Some of these materials, such as the manipulatives and visual aids, will allow my students to be able to access the curriculum like their general education peers. For example, being able to use base ten blocks to solve addition and subtraction problems will allow my students to access the same curriculum as their general education peers, and be able to move them towards mastery of those basic foundational mathematical skills that they need to be successful moving forward in life. They can also benefit from the use of these and other manipulatives during instruction to make it more engaging and during independent classwork to provide supports in their completion of assignments! These resources will be used in the classroom and incorporated into future lessons as well as allow for small independent/group practice to master some of their IEP goals. Like I mentioned earlier, my students love to share their perspectives and the use of the resources would be no different, it will just give them something tangible to share and express their ideas with. Some of these will also be used in assessing IEP goals. We appreciate all your support.
