Students using technology in a world languages classroom improve their digital citizenship, online etiquette, creativity and academics. They benefit from working one-on-one, tracking their progress, and working in collaborative projects. Currently, my students work on individual and group presentations, they need to bring the iPads in and out of the classroom which makes it difficult to use them without a protective cover. Since the iPads are shared with all students in the same building, it becomes difficult to keep a daily record for any damages. In the end, students are financially responsible for a broken screen or any damages, as a result of using the iPads in different environments. I feel that students should focus on the lessons, not whether their tools could be damaged for using them. Final and foremost by donating to our project, we will be able to use, protect and share the iPads with other motivated students in the same building, increasing their desire to learn through new and safe tech-tools.
