Students will use these novels in class within a small group to build fluency, stamina, and an interest in reading. Students will fulfill roles each week as their team dissects and comprehends the text. My classroom lacks the necessary book sets to complete ongoing literature circles effectively. These novel study groups allow students to collaborate with peers and discuss unique ideas and thoughts about a novel. They follow strategic guidelines each week based on their novel. The students get excited about reading and build basic reading skills that ultimately close gaps in struggling readers and enrich fluent readers. It's extremely exciting to facilitate this reading strategy!
