We have old non-magnetic whiteboards that are scratched and stained. There are not enough for the class to each have their own. When we use them, they share with a partner. Having a class set of magnetic whiteboards allows each student opportunities to learn. Whiteboards allow us to practice things such as writing our names, learning the alphabet, letter formation, writing sight words and fluency in doing so. Easily erasing mistakes helps to keep frustration levels low and eagerness to try again high. Kids love using whiteboards. Having magnetic whiteboards allows the kids to manipulate magnetic objects in their own work space. They could be used to work with magnetic letters, numbers, shapes, etc. and provide a way to learn through play. Learning should be fun!
