In my years in the classroom, I've seen that the best method to truly engage students interests while checking for understanding is by providing them with different methods to express themselves. Each time my students have completed an art project based on what we are learning in the classroom, they strike up rich conversations about why they choose to represent certain things in their art. This requested Space-Saver Mobile Art Center easel will be used to create projects on a monthly basis that my students can use to show what they have learned in science and social studies. During our Leaders & Heroes unit, I've had students attempt to recreate portraits of Albert Einstein, Jackie Robinson, or Ellen Ochoa. It will be wonderful to allow the students more time to add to their projects with the easel.
