I have created this project to get some flexible seating for my students in our classroom. A comfortable and welcoming environment can eliminate distractions to help students to focus on the work at hand. Having flexible seating will enable students to move around and encourage collaboration with more peers. It will also allow them to have a choice of where they can learn in the most efficient way that they can. Rather than having students sit in a hard chair all day, I want to offer seating to enable students to relax and foster a comfortable and safe working environment. I am requesting various seating options for my classroom. All of these options will allow my students the opportunity to move around while they are still learning. The balance ball chairs will help students to be supported but also allow them to move around and collaborate with other peers. The camping chairs will allow students to sit with their backs supported but with a comfier setting. The saucer chair allows for some flexibility. Some will be set lower to the ground on a lower table for students who prefer to sit on a low rising table, others will be placed on a traditional chair but to offer some more support. The inflatable large chair will be a special spot for students to read and work on independent work in our reading nook. The inflatable chair will also act as a large incentive for students to perform at a high standard to earn the reward of sitting in an inflatable chair.
