My students are a diverse blend of learners with special needs. Each child in my classroom communicates in their own way and teaches us new ways to seek and overcome challenges each day. Students in my classroom are learning extended common core curriculum (grades 3-5) as well as working on their own IEP (individualized education plan) goals. My students are learning through hands on activities, adult modeling, therapy (Occupational, Speech, Adaptive Technology, Physical), peer interaction, small group instruction and 1:1 direct instruction. Through generous donations, our class will have consistent core sets of materials to promote speech and language, literacy, problem solving and access to 21st Century technology within the classroom environment.
