I am a Second Grade teacher at Creekside Elementary. I love reading and sharing my love of reading with my 24 students. I believe that by teaching children how to read, I am supporting their success in school and their future. I like to provide my students with a variety of books. We use decodable and sight word books for our struggling readers to practice sounding out. Our independent readers use Ready To Read Level 1 readers to read independently. Our high readers are beginning to use chapter books to promote comprehension. By having a variety of books with different topics, students can choose books that they are interested in. I strive to keep them engaged and to making reading fun!
