I want my students to say "goodbye" to sitting "criss-cross applesauce" on the floor during small group differentiation activities. A kidney shaped table will allow my students in small groups to have adequate work space. Most importantly, they will also be able to use proper handwriting posture. Additionally, I will be able to monitor their progress at a glance and provide eye level instruction. It is disheartening that their hard work needs to be erased every few minutes or that their handwriting is sloppy due to poor posture. My hope is that they feel their efforts are valuable and appreciated.
