Big books are a fun and exciting way to access literature but I have nowhere to safely store them. I would love my students to be able to independently access them without causing damage to the books. Students in my class are encouraged to be as independent and organized as possible. Being able to give them tools like a clipboard, toothbrush holder(for their pencils), and individual whiteboard markers that they are responsible for helps to foster these attributes. Anchor charts are used all over our classroom to help students access information independently so that they can help each other or continue with their work without becoming frustrated. Large and small chart paper help to create these in large or small group settings.
