Students have been without print books in their hands and continued, regular access to books and libraries during the Covid shutdown. We need to reengage them with texts they can choose to connect with and strive to read widely. They need books at a variety of levels filled with characters they can't stop reading about. Students need to have a wide choice of material that is appealing to them. As they grow from Emergent to Transitional to Fluent readers, they need engaging books to read. RF.3.4a Read on-level text with purpose and understanding.
