My project is to provide flexible seating(pillows, comfy floor seats, and balance balls) for stations and independent work time. I have a large class of 26, and they need to be able to spread out around the room into their own space and focus. This allows them a break from their neighbors and variety to maintain interest throughout the day. Last year the children would lay on the floor, under desks or on top of them. I am hoping to give them better options this year. In second grade the children start to become more independent and would enjoy having a variety of places to go and complete their work. With a large group, it is important that some of my stations run independently, so that I may teach to a small group. The headphones will be used during this station time for listening to stories. The pencil sharpener is critical to solving a simple problem. Help make this classroom an unforgettable place!
