My students are kindergarteners at an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program candidate school. Approximately 87% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch and over half of our students are English Language Learners. Our mission as an IB school is to guide students to be knowledgeable, inquirers, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, risk-takers, balanced, and reflective individuals. We focus on teaching students "how to think" instead of "what to think". My students do not have the opportunity to use iPads at home, and I feel that this is an incredible resource as we go full force towards IB and Common Core thinking. My students are extremely eager to grow, and love working on iPads. I truly feel that this opportunity would be incredibly beneficial to these students and giving them the opportunity to explore in language arts, math, social studies, and science on a daily basis.
