The kids here are technologically savvy, and are blessed with the opportunity to use laptops frequently in the classroom. This has allowed for me as a teacher to try to better address their individual needs through a more personalized learning experience. However, there are some drawbacks. With 180 students using computers, headphones, and earbuds each and every day, wear and tear takes its toll. Currently, many students are unable to afford their own listening accessories, and our classroom headphones and earbuds are constantly falling apart, breaking, or no longer working at all. This leaves students at a disadvantage, unable to access the audio pieces of their content in a way that is not disruptive to the others in class. Having a sturdy and reliable class set, with back ups, will allow students the opportunity to access their digital content with consistency and effectiveness. This will greatly enhance their learning experience on a daily basis!
