My first graders are technology sponges! They love working on the computers, and anything else that is technology based. They pick up things so quickly, it amazes me. We live in a very small town. Our school district averages about 30 students per grade level. Unfortunately, we are in pretty dire financial straits. Our district ended up cutting all extra-curricular classes in the elementary school, including computer classes for my first graders. I feel that it is vital that my students keep abreast of the way technology is changing, but I struggle to do that with what we have to offer in our district. Our little town doesn't have a lot to offer these kids, but with technology, they can be offered the world!
