Currently, I am the 6th grade math teacher and newly created teacher of photography at our school. The challenge I have each year is getting students interested in school while meeting our statewide standards. With almost 50% of our students working below average, it is my goal to increase these students' performance to average or above average levels. I am constantly looking for new ways to gain student interest, increase a love for school and better instruct my students in essentials for learning mandated standards. I find that when students are engaged they are more involved/interactive, show excitement, and appear to have a greater interest in their learning!
