Our school is a low income school in a rural mountainous region of South Carolina. My students have learning, emotional, and intellectual disabilities and autism. Hands-on projects that integrate the arts give my students an avenue to connect with core content and encourage reading and writing skills. My students are those who need extra help in literacy skills and these projects allow them to get excited about completing the tasks that they need extra help in.

About my class
