My students will have 20 minutes each day and any time after completing an assignment but before starting a new one to read any book they would like anywhere in the room that they are comfortable. I am creating a quiet reading area with a book shelf and bean bag pillows to sit on. My students are beginning to find what types of books they love to read and I give them time each day to read anything they want. I really want them to find a Love for books. This is important because loving to read helps students to become better readers. I have 29 students and a very small classroom but with the bean bags I will be able to give students a choice to sit in a quiet area which will give them a small space to themselves to work quietly away from others.
