As a new Computer Specialist, I have seen first hand the extremely diverse skill level and needs of students across the grade levels. These books will help explain important internet safety issues to my students and serve as great anchors to computer lab lessons. Board games will allow them to have hands on access to coding activities for those days when technology is not being so friendly. Students do not understand the possible effects that technology use can have and how their choices online can affect their real lives. Using picture books in the classroom has proven to be a great way to help students understand concepts and are a great resource to help them connect to ideas that they may not yet have experience with. As the computer specialist, my goal is to create technology savvy students who will learn how to effectively and safely communicate with technology and be prepared for life in the 21st century.
