I teach Pre-School with the best students in the best school EVER! We are an inner-city school with over 800 students. Our student population is mainly low socio-economic and/or ELL status. Many have also suffered or witnessed some sort of trauma in their lives. Almost all of the students here receive free breakfast and lunch, and we host a food pantry from our building. We send home over 60 backpacks full of food weekly with students from our own building. All that being said, these students come to school each day ready to learn, excited to be with adults and peers who care, and eager to make their lives better. Pre-School is just about the most fun place to be in school (shhh- don't tell anyone; they'll all want to come!), and every day we are thankful we are able to spend time together learning through play!
