In my classroom, you will see children excited to be at school and eager to learn. Children in my class are a mixture of boys and girls from different ethnic backgrounds and socioeconomic status. Our school qualifies as being low-income with 35% or more of our families qualifying for free & reduced lunches and you will see many of our students eating breakfast after getting to school. Students are full of energy, learn in a variety of ways and come from many different academic levels. Our classroom is set up to allow students to engage in a variety of hands on activities in multiple center choices. Although, I feel strongly that children learn a lot through explore & discovery I also feel that small group instruction is just as equally important. For this reason, students participate in daily small-group guided lessons facilitated by me.
