My name is Katie Benningfield and I am delighted to begin my sixth year in the classroom teaching 6th grade Pre-AP math and Pre-AP science at Dallas ISD's School for Talented and Gifted in Pleasant Grove. I began teaching in the Pleasant Grove community five years ago, at Annie Webb Blanton Elementary. Throughout my time, I fell in love with the passion, determination, and persistence each child and family has to achieving academic success. I am a believer that every child is capable at learning and as an educator, I feel responsible for meeting each student where they are, individualizing instruction to their needs, to help each child reach their maximum potential, I believe in creating hands on experiences, using the latest technology, and letting my students take the reigns in exploring and engaging in real world applications.
