My students have to work extra hard to achieve their goals. They are the students who are constantly asking to use the restroom or get a drink of water. They are roaming around the room and getting disciplined for being out of their seats. They require movement throughout the day to get the "ants out of their pants." They learn by doing, not necessarily by listening. My students with behavioral difficulties can't sit for longer than 3 minutes before they are wandering around the room. Many learn best while they are standing or sitting on their knees. We are a diverse public school teaching students with severe disabilities to students with exceptional abilities and everything in between. Each student is taught as an individual and is treated in the same manner.
