I am in my tenth year teaching kindergarten in the same town. The school that I work for is a small rural farming community. We have one elementary school that consists of one class per grade level from kindergarten through eighth grade. Each class is made up of anywhere between 21-32 kids. Due to our small community we are a close knit group. It is always an honor to see the kindergarteners grow and succeed before they split up and go on to high school in the surrounding towns. If you walked into my classroom in a given day some things you may see would include: small group instruction, independent learning, and peer collaboration. It is my belief that the education that we provide in kindergarten sets the foundation for the future achievements of the community around us. Through Donors Choose I will be able to offer my students many experiences and resources that I could not single handedly provide.
