Having a library with a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction book selections will allow the children to read for enjoyment rather than reading just because they are required to do so. They will have opportunities every day to visit the class library. Second grade is a year where reading tends to blossom and the imagination can sore to heights above and beyond! Since this will be my first year as a teacher, I am building this class library from the beginning. We are in need of grade-level appropriate books for our classroom. I want the best for my students as if they were my own children. Books can unlock the imagination and develop reading and comprehension skills throughout the year.
