The books I am asking for will make a big difference in my students' education. I have almost no books since this is a new position at my school. I used to be a Spanish teacher and last year I was given the opportunity to shift to Art, which is my real passion. Thanks to the pandemic, my first year as an Art Elementary teacher was fully online. For every class, I like to start with a book. Last year I did it all from online read alouds, but nothing compares to the face to face experience of reading a book to your students. To make these materials also available at home, I will record a read aloud of all the books for the kids to have access to at home. During Art class, students can choose to go to the reading corner and grab a book. I have created a cozy corner with bookshelves and cushions for them to read and find inspiration. Some of the books in my wishlist are "How to" books to be available at the "Choice Bar" where they can choose out of 6 stations to work independently. My artists will be thrilled to have all these books available for them!
