I teach Family Consumer Science at Heritage Middle School in Meridian, Idaho. I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in both quarter and semester classes. Family Consumer Science Exploratory is a 9 week elective class offered to 6th grade students where they are introduced to both cooking and sewing units. Family Consumer Science 1 and 2 are semester classes offered to 7th and 8th grade students. We explore cooking, nutrition, hand & machine sewing, textiles & design, and personal growth units. All three classes offer students a variety of individual and collaborative hands-on lab experiences.
