My students are 75% Latino, 20% proficient in reading, and 100% free and reduced lunch. My school is in a beautiful building built in 1921. Although the area was historically predominantly Latino, it is quickly being gentrified with young parents and their small children. My students struggle with reading and I want to provide seating options to those who cannot get comfortable in the old, out-dated seating that my school offers.
