All students work at different speeds and on different levels. It is important to have work, tasks, or art-related games that engage the students while still being educational. I have a special nook in my classroom for books and educational games for students to choose from when finished with projects. But some of these activities are best done while sitting on the floor. Having a rug in the room will, of course, be so much more comfortable than having to sit on the cold floor. When the students are comfortable, they can make better choices and allow the learning to continue.
