I have a classroom of twenty-two second graders from a variety of backgrounds. Many of my students are at risk with nearly 2/3 of our school qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Their interaction with technology is limited. Many students only get to use computers at school as they do not have them at home. We have one computer lab in our school for over 500 students. We also have two computer carts which must be shared between over 20 classrooms. These carts are used primarily for online testing. I only have access to these carts for an hour each week to take their weekly reading test. I would love to have technology readily available for my students to use on a daily basis.
