To reach students with difficulty accessing the average school curriculum because of their disabilities, it is necessary to capitalize on their strengths. Our class offers students kindergarten through fifth grade, verbal or not verbal yet, the opportunity to access learning experiences at their level. Our students benefit from the hands-on experiences these materials will provide. For example, The "Snap Addition Center" and "Snap Slide Number Bonds" kits will help them to visualize math problems and build their number sense. The "Alphabet Folder Game Library" will offer student a variety of ways to learn and practice their letters. The STEM resources offer the opportunity to explore science concepts, but also so much more. For example, the Geometry LightUp Activity Center, CreateAChain Reaction STEM kit, and Building Brick STEM Challenge kit will be used across many areas. Students will manipulate the objects developing their gross and fine motor skills. They will explore cause and effect. While working in groups they will learn about taking turns and practice using appropriate language and vocabulary with the help of the teacher. They will be thrilled to have new and exciting hands-on materials to help them understand and practice math, literacy, science, and social skills. Each student should have the opportunity to develop to their full potential.
