I teach a diverse group of 3rd grade students in Las Vegas, Nevada. I value the diversity of the mixture of cultures and perspectives my students bring to my classroom. I think it is important to highlight that all experiences are meaningful and all cultures are to be respected. I teach my students that our uniqueness makes us special! There is no one else in the world quite like each one of us and the world is better for it- how boring it would be if everyone was alike! It is important to me to shine a light on our differences but also notice our commonalities. We are alike deep down in that we all want to be seen, heard, loved, and respected. My students know that we have a lot we can learn from each other and everyone has something meaningful they can contribute.
