The books provided through this project will help keep my students interested in reading while also rewarding their efforts. Among many of the titles chosen for this project are popular series such as Fly Guy, Little Critter, Elephant and Piggie, and Mercy Watson. This project will foster a love for reading in my children by giving them choice, which is so important as they are just beginning to read. With the use of these books, my students will able to read about what they are interested in and what books they like while also being able to meet their academic goals for Accelerated Reader. The purpose of this project is to bridge the gap of what my students must do in order to meet academic requirements and what they want to do because they enjoy it.
