Understanding lighting is one of the first steps to producing any video or taking pictures. Michael Jordan once said, "Get the fundamentals down and the level of everything you do will rise". The equipment listed will provide students with an opportunity to fully learn and grasp the fundamentals of lighting in video production and photography. With the 3 point lighting projects students will have the hands on experience to learn and have the ability to convey emotions and settings for video and photography. Learning various lighting techniques allows students to take on their creative roles. As a class, we will explore films and photographs to see how light is used and how viewers react to certain light settings. After working and building up their skills, students will have the confidence to produce all sorts of media projects and share them with their peers and families.
