Mathematics is better understood through multiple avenues. To break the negative connotation attached to math, we need to give our students the opportunity to learn math in different ways. Using technology allows students to think critically and visualize challenging concepts, especially in calculus. It is very important that we expose students to technology and multiple perspectives before they leave our secondary educational system to ensure that they have the proper basis to excel in any career they choose. Many of my students simultaneously take my advanced high school course as well as college level sciences and mathematics. These calculators will allow them to explore concepts outside of my course, too.
