Players will be able to experience volleyball, many for the first time, by using the volleylites provided by this project. In addition, a cart to put them in will keep the balls contained and prevent injury which could occur by having the balls in a pile on the ground. Fourth and fifth graders will be able to enjoy the comfort of using lighter and softer volleyballs to train with which will prevent injury. The Volley-Lites will be used to develop skills such as setting, serving, spiking, and bumping. These volleyballs are lighter than a regular volleyball and are age-appropriate for elementary age players. Finally, the spike trainer will allow the players to develop confidence in their spiking in a very non-threatening way. This is one of the hardest things to teach and this tool will allow more players to experience success with this skill. We receive no funding from the school! Your help is greatly appreciated!
