My middle school students reside in a Californian city which is often overlooked given its proximity near desirable wine country and "the happiest place on Earth" according to Oprah. My students display a willingness and interest in project-based learning, which focuses on collaboration, participation, innovation, and utilization of resources. My school practices team teaching, whereby core subject teachers (English, Social Science, Mathematics, Physical Science) share the same students. This allows for the implementation of cross curricular projects and academic supports towards student learning. My students represent a diverse economical and racial background, but share in their strong desire to learn.
