We all can use some encouragement to work hard. I want to reward my hardest working students with Beats headphones. Why, you may ask? My students love music and often work with headphones on. By rewarding the hardest workers every year, I believe it will inspire others work just as hard as well. Extrinsic motivations are hard to come by for students with low social economic status. That doesn't mean it's not a highly effective way to help raise student performance. Our school has a large variety of students in attendance. They range from the student that attends daily to the student that completes all their courses online. I want to help my online students by rewarding them and and showing them that their hard work isn't being overlooked.
