My students are very intelligent and are constantly seeking new activities that challenge them. Children today are used to a technical stimulus. Many of my students have some advanced form of technology at home like an iPad, smartphone, laptop, or video game console. Our school district is a high poverty district as well, and I want to open access to advanced technology to those students who do not have access at home. Traditional teacher driven instruction no longer meets the needs of today's children. The students need something extra. They need technology integrated into the classroom. My students are bright, creative, and looking for a challenge. I hope to provide them with more challenges through this project. My students do struggle with reading, writing, and comprehension. I hope to use the materials here to boost reading comprehension and levels.
