In our school, the vast majority of students come from "broken homes." There is a great amount of inconsistency in their lives, which even varies greatly from one child's home to another. We strive to make school the biggest consistency that our students have so that they have a place to feel welcomed and appreciated. We remind them regularly that their thoughts are important and valued. To accompany this sense of value, I would love to provide an environment that fosters this uniqueness and turns it into a positive thing. Our school is quite old, as well as having a lot of second-hand furniture that you don't see at brand new schools. With new and colorful classroom furniture, my students will be excited about the learning environment being created just for them. They will feel positive about school and the consistency that it provides for them ten months out of the year.
