There is so much to cover in 5th grade. We study all topics together, and we work on math, reading, research, writing, history, and so much more. With so much to cover, there is sometimes little time to stop! Flexible seating will give my students the support they need to work and learn for long stretches of time. My students need to think deeper and concentrate harder to solve their problems and understand the materials we cover. That can be hard in a classroom full of so many children. Flexible seating will enable my students to find new places in the classroom to work, and be comfortable while they do. The portable laptop stands will be great to help the children work both privately and in pairs on laptops, and the cushions will keep them comfortable. The bounce bands will help my more active students stay at their desks, and not bother themselves or their classmates. And the headphones will allow my students to create engaging, interactive presentations, without disturbing other students as they work! As a first year teacher, my classroom is a work in progress, but it is getting better every day. These items will truly transform the room into a real place of learning, working, and collaborating, where every student is supported in all the ways he or she needs. Thank you.
