The 5th-grade students are trying to go paperless! Our district has provided all students with a Google account so we can fully indulge in using the Google Educational tools. We create and submit most of our work using Google Docs, Slides, Forms, and Drawings. From writing narratives on Docs to compiling research for presentations on Slides, every student has the opportunity to engage 21st-century skills using the Chromebooks provided by the school. However, our district has struggled to offer a 1:1 student to Chromebook ratio leaving many of students without access to a computer away from school. My students and I are asking for 5 Chromebooks and 5 Laptop bags to start a Chromebook checkout system for students who do not have computers at home. We created a list of ways students can obtain WIFI and we plan to include the list in every laptop bag.
