My students are a diverse group of seventh and eighth graders. The programming classes has more boys than girls, but it is a popular choice among the girls too. This class is also racially and ethnically diverse. The school they attend is a newer school, but it was set up with only the most basic technology. There is a computer in each room and a few computer labs. But the students don't get much of an opportunity to work on pure computer projects. There are very few computer electives. This class is one opportunity to explore a purely tech topic - programming - using a variety of languages and tools.
