Over the passed four to five years, escape rooms have become all the rage. This idea of escape rooms have expanded to the educational field as well to help students engage in problem solving and/or mastering skills that they have learned in the classroom. Students love being able to work together and compete with one another to try and "breakout" of a task or a classroom. In this project, I have asked for zipper bags, they will be used to have individual mini breakouts for each group. These bags will be bound with the hasps and locked. Students will then complete clues in order to unlock each lock!
By the students applying what they have learned to complete a breakout, I believe teachers get a better glimpse at how students are mastering the standards. This type of practice also allows students to practice practical skills like problem solving and collaboration. I also believe that by students being able to do fun, interactive activities like breakouts are more beneficial to students than any form of study guide.
