Kindergarten students are active by nature. Their brains want to learn; their bodies need to move! Traditional seating is outdated and nonconductive to learning for children of this age. Instead, let's work together to replace most regular chairs with balance balls, wobble stools, floor mats, rocker boards, and bean bag chairs! I want learning to be accessible to children at various energy levels, from those who need a soft, comforting bean bag chair to those who would rather stand and wobble! This flexible seating allows each student to select their own location and seat within my classroom, teaching regulation and autonomy. The room will be divided into various sectors for sitting, standing, and lying down. Any seat may be used by several students on a daily basis, and any student will be free to choose where they work throughout the day. Help my students focus, learn, and thrive by allowing them to move!
