Have you ever notice that children say that play is the best part of their school day? Dramatic play is a great stepping stone for learning for students to self-regulate their emotions and actions. When a child engages in pretend play, they are actively experimenting with their social and emotional roles in life. When a child pretends to be a different character, they have the experience of "walking in someone else's shoes" which helps them develop empathy. Pretend play allows students to use their creativity while developing their imagination as well as their cognitive and emotional strength. Play helps children to interact and engage in the world around them. Play is critical to the healthy growth and development. It is essentially the most important part of a child's life that helps to build their social-emotional well being. This is why I am requesting a Lakeshore Puppet Theater and Teacher Puppet! The Theater will give my students a platform to develop their imagination. You could be helping the next playwright, actor, actress, or Broadway singer. My students could use the teacher puppet to pretend to be me or a fun way to reteach information to other students. You could be helping the next educator. Would you consider helping our project? Thank you!
