Our orchestra students at our school range from beginners to musicians who have played for 3 or more years. A few of the kids come from families that can provide what is needed, but many of my students struggle to come up with the equipment needed to play a stringed instrument. Our school does the best it can to provide instruments and equipment, but it just isn't enough to help these students. The genius composer and violin player Mozart was born into a family that could afford to provide him with an instrument. What if he wasn't given that opportunity? Some of these kids are very talented musically but simply don't have the same financial opportunities as others. They deserve at least a chance to blossom into their potential as truly great musicians.
