We can all agree that every student deserves high quality instruction. One of the fundamental, but important, methods of delivering high quality instruction is giving the students a clear understanding of what success looks like before they attempt the project. Presenting the clear criteria for students success as well as a clear intention of how students should arrive at a successful completion to the project is key to their understanding of the task at hand. Research agrees that clearly stated lesson intentions, or objectives, and goals, or success criteria, are important to student achievement. With the mobile whiteboard, I can finally have a space to write and display the class learning intentions, objectives, and success criteria needed to be more effective. I currently have a limited amount of wall space in which to display these important pieces prominently. This whiteboard will allow me to move the objectives and goals as the class moves between the class and the lab.
