The materials listed will give our students the tools to generate powerful artistic works and imagery in order to display throughout our community and art contests. The context matter of our work will depict the connections between our storied past and current national/global climate; political, societal, and pop culture. The Agamograph style of artwork where viewers will see 2 images at once - as they see the image from 2 angles by walking by, it transitions into the other image.
The tools that we requested will help enhance our visual narratives by giving us higher quality blends, textures, and lines. For example, a student accomplished a house before/after Hurricane Katrina. The damage occurred from the storm was easily manipulated by the sharp, crisp lines from the fine point sharpie. Another student did the history of flight. North Carolina was known for its history of Flight so they created the first model done by the Wright brothers transitioned into the jumbo jets we have available today. The professional blending color/shading pencils gave smooth, gradual changes in color and value while the watercolor markers strengthened our effect of cloudy, opaque sky blues and clouds.
